Storyline

In the mid-1980s, the streets of Compton, California, were some of the most dangerous in the country. When five young men translated their experiences growing up into brutally honest music that rebelled against abusive authority, they gave an explosive voice to a silenced generation. Following the meteoric rise and fall of N.W.A., Straight Outta Compton tells the story of how these youngsters revolutionized music and pop culture forever the moment they told the world the truth about life in the hood and ignited a cultural war. The city of Compton, has said to be the worst city in L.A. county for its citizens to make a living, unlike its neighboring town of Paramount, which has flourished in every way Compton has not. In 1987 homes in Compton had drastically dropped in property value due to a higher demand of living in Paramount, where "life is always better". Proven true, till this day.  O'Shea Jackson Jr. is portraying his father in this film.  O'Shea Jackson Jr. prepared for 2 years, to portray the role of his father. NWA's (Niggaz With Attitude) debut album 'Straight Outta Compton' that was released on August 8th 1988. Michael B. Jordan was considered to play Dr. Dre but declined due to scheduling conflicts.Compton is a inner suburb in south-southeast of downtown Los Angeles County, California, USA. The first trailer for hip-hop biopic Straight Outta Compton has hit the web, detailing the rise to fame and fortune of the 1980s rap group NWA.
An introduction follows founder members and hip-hop legends Dr Dre and Ice Cube as they roll round their old south Los Angeles neighbourhood lapping up the love from locals, before it’s straight into scenes from F Gary Gray’s movie.
The synopsis for Straight Outta Compton reads: “In the mid-1980s, the streets of Compton, California, were some of the most dangerous in the country. When five young men translated their experiences growing up into brutally honest music that rebelled against abusive authority, they gave an explosive voice to a silenced generation. Following the meteoric rise and fall of NWA, Straight Outta Compton tells the astonishing story of how these youngsters revolutionised music and pop culture forever the moment they told the world the truth about life in the hood and ignited a cultural war.”
Gray’s film stars Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr as the rap icon, Jason Mitchell as Eazy-E, Corey Hawkins as Dr Dre and Paul Giamatti as music mogul Jerry Heller. Snoop Dogg (played by Keith Stanfield) and Suge Knight (R Marcus Taylor) also appear in the film.
On 29 January a Los Angeles promotional shoot for Gray’s movie was interrupted by the arrest of the real-life Suge Knight following the death of 55-year-old Terry Carter in an alleged hit and run. Knight, the founder of Death Row Records, was subsequently charged with murder and is currently in jail for six more weeks after his bail hearing was postponed to 20 March.
